In'Tech Medical SAS, a developer and manufacturer of orthopedic instruments and implants, is launching a new division dedicated to the manufacturing of production-equivalent prototypes in a rapid delivery setting.
“The medical device industry is always looking to accelerate the time-to-market of new technologies, including surgical instruments,” President Laurent Pruvost said. “This is why we have created The Prototype Garage. Simply said, it is a standalone prototyping cell at the heart of our standard production tool, designed to ensure fast delivery of production-equivalent, surgery-ready orthopedic instruments and implants.”
The Prototype Garage is focused on accelerating new product launches by helping medical device firms with their regulatory submissions and verification/validation process, In'Tech executives noted in a news release. Recognizing that each company’s needs are unique, In’Tech Medical begins every assignment in close collaboration with the client’s engineering team, analyzing prints and design intentions, as well as defining a precise timeline. Depending on the complexity of the project, The Prototype Garage is able to deliver production-equivalent prototypes in four to six weeks.
“The Prototype Garage website at www.theprototypegarage.com is a communication platform designed to allow companies developing new orthopedic designs to easily upload prints or models and submit an RFQ (request for quote). This is another example of our commitment to simplify the product development process and improve customer service,” Pruvost added.
Founded in 2000, privately held In'Tech Medical is headquartered in Rang-Du-Fliers, France, and has U.S. offices in Memphis, Tenn.
In’Tech Medical will showcase The Prototype Garage as well as its full product portfolio at next week's American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons annual meeting in Las Vegas, Nev. (booth 6443).
