Contract manufacturer Vistek Medical has found a new home.
The 28-year-old company is moving to Dayton, Ohio, 458 miles west of its current location in Ivyland, Pa. The firm will begin operating from its new location on Jan. 1.
Vistek executives said the move will help the company better meet customer demand. "This expansion and relocation will enable us to capitalize on manufacturing scale, expand value-added services, and leverage a highly skilled local workforce to meet the increased demands of our growing customer base," Rick Wiegland, CEO of Gemcity Engineering and Manufacturing, said in a news release.
The expansion will give Vistek added capabilities in milling (through the addition of new five-axis machines), electrical discharge machining, finishing and packaging.
Business conditions remain strong and we have secured key new customer wins in 2015 that will continue to drive revenue in the coming year. The relocation allows us to expand on our value proposition and better serve our customers in a highly competitive segment," said John Ducaji, sales and business development director at Vistek.
Founded in 1987, Vistek is a contract manufacturer of implants and components for the spinal, trauma, extremity and overall orthopedic markets. The company is a wholly owned subsidiary of Gemcity Engineering and Manufacturing (GEM), a global specialized equipment provider and contract manufacturer. GEM serves the defense/aerospace, disk drive, fuel cell, medical, semiconductor, and industrial industries.
