Micron Products02.25.16
Micron Products Inc., a leading contract manufacturer for the orthopedic implant and medical device industries, will showcase its technologically advanced machining and finishing capabilities for the manufacture of orthopedic implants and medical devices at the upcoming AAOS Annual Meeting, Booth 4185, from March 2-4, 2016. The event takes place in the Exhibit Hall of the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla.
Micron’s product experts will be available at its booth to discuss the company’s contract manufacturing capabilities and services designed to help orthopedic OEMs bring products to market quickly, efficiently, and with high value at a low cost.
The company will display examples of medical products it has contract manufactured for orthopedic applications, including implants for both upper and lower extremities (wrist plates, spinal, hip, knee) and surgical instrumentation. Micron will also highlight new technical capabilities in the areas of mill-turn, screw machining, automated polishing, and citric and nitric passivation.
“As a medical device contract manufacturer that provides personalized and fully integrated services, our experience and expertise covers manufacturing patient-specific implants, as well as off-the-shelf implant components, trials, and specialized cutting guides and instruments,” said Salvatore Emma, Jr., President and CEO. “We offer OEMs high quality end products delivered through innovative and agile manufacturing methodologies that mean our lead times are measured in days, not weeks. A prime example is multi-axis machining that is available for process development and production. This capability enables us to provide a finished component in a single set up. This reduces costs and provides better quality to OEMs compared with traditional machining methods that require secondary operations.”
Micron has registered its facilities with the US Food & Drug Administration and is an ISO 13485:2003 and 9001:2008 certified supplier of choice for joint reconstruction, spine, trauma and extremity components, complete systems and finished goods instrumentation kits.
