Promimic and Danco have signed a license agreement where Danco will invest in a production line for the HAnano Surface process developed by Promimic. Danco will be the preferred process partner for Promimic for the U.S. and China medical implant market.
Since 1971, Danco Anodizing has been meeting the needs of many diverse industries for technically superior surface treatments of machined parts, castings, extrusions and sheet metal products. Danco is approved by most major aerospace and medical corporations. Danco has been a leader in the processing of titanium, stainless steel, and aluminum parts for the orthopedic industry since 1992.
“Our partnership with Promimic extends Danco’s commitment to our medical device customers in providing technically superior surface treatments,” said Dean Zentz, VP operations Danco-Warsaw. “Danco is excited to be able to offer the HAnano Surface not only to our U.S. customers, but also our customers in China.”
Promimic’s HAnano Surface represents a new era of implant surfaces, based on bio-mimicking synthetic bone minerals. The unique HAnano Surface is only 20 nanometers thin and is proven to improve and accelerate osseointegration in over 20 pre-clinical studies. Through its wet chemical process it can be applied to almost any implant material and shape improving the integration with bone. The HAnano Surface is already in clinical use on dental implants in Brazil.
“We’re excited to partner with Danco and I’m convinced that this will create a faster spread for our technology to implant companies both in U.S.A. and in China,” said Ulf Brogren, Promimic’s CEO. Danco has a long history in the industry and is the perfect partner with its background in chemical processes and anodizing. This will make it easier for our customer, giving them flexibility and a faster route to market.”
