DeRoyal Establishes European Presence
Seeking to grow its international business, Powell, Tenn.-based medical device company DeRoyal Industries has opened a sales and marketing office in Ireland. DeRoyal develops and manufactures orthopedic, surgical and wound care products.
The new Dublin office, currently the only sales office outside the United States, will serve DeRoyal’s European customers, whose orders are already being processed through the new facility. The new location will will allow the company to process these orders in euros as well as U.S. dollars.
DeRoyal intends to continue to grow its international business, and has its eye on China and Brazil, according to David Watermeier, senior director of marketing at the company. It has been experiencing market share growth in Canada, Mexico, South America, the Middle East, Northern Africa and the South Pacific.
Founded in 1973 by Pete DeBusk—who is still owner and chairman—DeRoyal first ventured overseas in 1992. According to the company, its international business has grown by 20 percent in the last two years, and represents 10 percent of sales.
