The Baxano VEO is the first of five new product offerings ChoiceSpine plans to launch this year.
“This is a great addition to our product line. We look forward to building relationships with previous VEO users and distributors as well as strengthen our existing relationships by expanding our product offerings,” said Marty Altshuler, ChoiceSpine principal.
The VEO Lateral System brings clear and direct visualization to lateral fusion surgery. Through direct psoas visualization and clear lateral fluoroscopic views, VEO is intended to let surgeons focus on the patient, rather than the product. The VEO direct visualization approach was designed to help minimize iatrogenic trauma to the psoas muscle and the nerve plexus to help reduce the risk of post-operative complications.
“The VEO System opens many doors and provides a great opportunity to grow our Western footprint,” said Rick Henson, ChoiceSpine principal.VEO is designed for direct visualization of the psoas prior to dissection. This is accomplished with the Reveal two-stage retraction system: a tubular retractor for access to – but not through – the psoas, followed by a pair of independent blades for controlled, manual psoas retraction in the anterior/posterior plane.
“We are very excited about the addition of VEO to our product line, it adds a much needed lateral system to our portfolio," said Anderson Collins, director of Business Development. "Our highest priority is to now make the transition from Baxano to Choicespine as seamless as possible for our distributors.”
