Houston, Texas-based Intratek Inc. has released its Stapix superelastic nitinol staple fixation system in the United States. The system is the newest addition to the Intratek’s collection of surgical tool offerings for foot and ankle and hand surgery.
Stapix kits are sterile, single-use, and fully disposable. Extremity surgeons demand proven performance and surgically efficient products. The inserter tool enables surgeons to control staple arm width during insertion, removal, and repositioning if necessary. The Stapix system has numerous sizing options giving the surgeon flexibility in the forefoot, midfoot, hindfoot and hand. The kit configurations contain all the necessary components for a successful procedure including implant, drill guide, drill bit, locating pins, inserter tool and tamp.
The device, which earned 510(k) clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration February last year, is intended for orthopedic and podiatric surgery.
