Dedham, Mass.-based AliMed Inc., a medical product manufacturer, has released the Invisicoat patient positioners intended for use with diagnostic imaging procedures.
The Invisicoat positioners’ proprietary curved-edge design is meant to reduce artifacts and allows for high clarity medical images commonly present when conventional positioners are used. Available in several configurations to support a patient’s head, lumbar, spine and obliques, the positioners can be used with X-ray, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computed tomography (CT) and other radiologic procedures to keep patients comfortable and supported.
“With millions of patients and clinicians relying upon the nearly 400 million medical imaging procedures performed each year in the United States for accurate diagnoses, it is vitally important that image quality is not compromised and cause unnecessary inconvenience to the radiologist,” said Rob Brown, AliMed senior vice president of sales and marketing. “We are pleased to offer Invisicoat as a solution for clean, clear images to our comprehensive line of patient positioners.”
According to the company, InvisiCoat positioners contain antimicrobial properties to help prevent against infection and cross-contamination, are durable and fluid proof to guard against body fluids and harmful fluids common to X-rays, and are easy to clean, making them a multi-purpose solution for both radiology suites and operating rooms.
