Micropulse Inc. has established a new medical polymers division.
Named Restoration Medical Polymers LLC (RMP), the division will be located in Micropulse’s Orthovation Center.
“Restoration Medical Polymer’s formation and growth in northeastern Indiana will add yet another critical link in the supply chain supporting the orthopedic industry in our region and around the globe," said Brian Emerick, president and owner of Micropulse. "We are pleased that the Micropulse Orthovation Center can act as a launch pad for this new venture.”
Initially, RMP will work with customers to develop materials and processes to fit their immediate needs in the polymer market. RMP expects that development projects will lead to next-generation products and processing technologies of interest to medical device manufacturers and suppliers.
“We are excited to form this partnership with Mr. Matrisciano, his experience in polymer development and production and Micropulse’s experience in contract manufacturing, medical devices, and business development is a great combination,” said Brian More, Micropulse chief financial officer.
Restoration Medical will begin to provide consulting and development service this month.
Lou Matrisciano, global technology manager at MediTECH/Quadrant EPP, a global manufacturer of high-performance thermoplastic materials, will head RMP for Micropulse.
“Restoration Medical Polymers is the culmination of several years of planning and humbly waiting for the right combination of family circumstance, business planning maturity, and partners," he said in prepared remarks. "The principals of the Micropulse Orthovation Center impressed me from day one with their knowledge, experience, and most importantly integrity. Our partnership provides exactly the type of support RMP needs to create a highly innovative environment.”
Based in Columbia City, Ind., Micropulse provides development and manufacturing solutions for instruments, implants, and sterilization cases for all market segments of the orthopedic industry.
