Xtant Medical Holdings Inc. announced today the appointment of Ronald Berlin as vice president and chief operations officer, effective Jan. 1. Berlin will report to Michael Mainelli, Xtant’s interim CEO.
“Ron is an accomplished healthcare executive with significant operations and quality management expertise and we are pleased that he has joined our executive management team,” said Mainelli. “In addition to the operational leadership he will provide to the organization, he is a strong strategic, cross-functional leader. Berlin brings over 35 years of operations experience to Xtant. Most recently, Berlin served as vice president of Global Operations for CoorsTek Medical. Prior to that role, he held positions of vice president, Global Strategic Sourcing and Procurement and vice president, Operations for Integra LifeSciences. Earlier in his career, he was vice president of Global Operations at Stryker Orthopaedics, which was at the time a division of Stryker Corporation. He is well versed in all aspects of medical device and tissue processing operations and quality assurance. He has a proven track record for improving compliance and quality, cost effectiveness, asset utilization, and continuous improvement programs based on Six Sigma, Kaizen, Lean Implementation, as well as managing the implementation of M&A programs.
