According to the company, the addition of this enhanced honing capability allows MedTorque to provide a highly precise process for internal bore features.
“The Engis is an eight spindle, multi-stroke CNC honing machine that provides us improved efficiency and accuracy while comfortably honing lengths up to 14.5 inches,” said Gustavo Gutierrez, director of operations for MedTorque’s Elmhurst, IL facility.
This capability adds greater control over the process and improvements throughout production that facilitate lower lead times.
MedTorque’s centerless grinding capabilities now include CNC-controlled OD grinding. This provides the ability to refine the process accuracy within microns while ensuring repeatability.
“The CNC controlled centerless grinder is an upgrade to our manually controlled centerless grinding capability. We can now easily fine tune the machine and provide a consistent result within microns,” Gutierrez added.
