NanoHive Medical LLC (previously HD LifeSciences), an innovator in 3D printed, biomimetic spinal interbody fusion solutions, has launched its Hive Standalone ALIF System, which is being featured this week at the North American Spine Society Annual Meeting in Boston (through Oct. 2).
The fixated, Soft Titanium latticed 3D printed titanium implant system is indicated for one and two-level anterior lumbar interbody fusion (ALIF) procedures and is available in various footprints and lordotic angles to accommodate varying patient anatomies.
Dr. Jaideep Chunduri of Beacon Orthopedics and Spine Medicine, Cincinnati, Ohio, said, “The new Hive Standalone ALIF cage is a great addition to the company’s best-in-class portfolio of 3D titanium cages. I like the aggressive screws and endplates that really lock the cage into the space and also the unique graft channels that allow me to inject additional bone graft into the lateral walls of the implants, along with packing the central lumen, to improve the bony ingrowth and fusion through the cage. I think it is among the best 3D printed titanium ALIF standalone systems in the market.”
Hive Standalone ALIF System is the latest addition to the Hive biomimetic portfolio of interbody spinal devices leveraging the company’s proprietary rhombic dodecahedron lattice design. The implants provide surgeons and patients biomechanical elastic modulus properties comparable to PEEK, improved diagnostic imaging capability and osteoblastic cell attraction and integration, features that support strong fusion constructs and efficacious clinical experiences.
NanoHive Medical partners with 3D Systems to additively manufacture its intricately designed titanium implants, featuring a durable load-bearing lattice for strengthening bone formation. With over 2 million medical devices printed, two U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-registered and ISO-certified facilities, as well as over 100 FDA-cleared and CE-marked devices supported, 3D Systems has the expertise and quality processes NanoHive Medical’s Hive implants demand.
NanoHive Medical LLC (previously HD LifeSciences) is a pioneer in 3D printed spinal interbody fusion implants and instrumentation. The company’s proprietary, biomimetic Soft Titanium technology clearly distinguishes their products in the $1.9 billion spinal interbody fusion device market. The Hive portfolio of interbody fusion devices provide surgeons and their patients ideal biomechanical elastic modulus properties, clear and precise diagnostic imaging capability, osteoblast cell attraction and integration—all features that lead to consistently strong fusion constructs and efficacious clinical experiences.
NanoHive Medical is located in Woburn, Mass.
