Exactech began the initial release of exacCoach suite, a tool to decrease office workload and boost patient satisfaction via a platform of smart communication technologies. The first release is an automated text messaging service to foster total joint surgeon-patient communication from preparation through rehabilitation.
An exacCoach initial adopter, Chris Christensen, MD, of Bluegrass Orthopaedics, told the press, “One of my patients, who was about to undergo her second hip replacement told me how much she loved the new communication. She felt confident this was going to be the new way of the future because patients had pertinent, timely reminders that were easy to understand and easy to follow. It makes me incredibly optimistic for the future of the program.”
exacCoach’s message stream informs patients and caregivers about expectations before and after the surgery with words of encouragement, videos, and exercise recommendations. The technology can be tailored to meet each surgeon’s needs.
“The introduction of exacCoach is an exciting example of Exactech’s efforts to partner with surgeons in ways to make them more efficient, while still prioritizing and elevating the surgeon-patient experience,” Exactech president and CEO Darin Johnson said. “The text messaging platform allows surgeons more time to meet increasing demands, while providing a personalized experience for their patients every step of the way through the journey of care.”
Future expansion and integrations for exacCoach are planned for later in the year.
