eCential Robotics and Amplitude Surgical are joining forces to develop a robotic solution for knee surgery.
The companies have agreed to combine their technologies for robotic knee surgery. Based on the technical excellence of the products and a common long-term vision, the partnership makes it possible to combine the best of both firms:
The robotic technologies provided by eCential Robotics will make it possible to take full advantage of the specificities of Amplitude Surgical's solutions in terms of surgical navigation and orthopedic implants, thus optimizing the surgery offered to the patient.
“We are proud to announce this new partnership with eCential Robotics. Since the creation of our company, our ambition has always been to provide technologies that allow surgeons to obtain the best results for their patients,” said Olivier Jallabert, CEO of Amplitude Surgical. “This collaboration marks a new step in our strategy, offering surgeons the possibility to optimize their surgical technique, not only with navigation, but also with robotic assistance. We are proud to work with eCential and to perpetuate the heritage of French orthopedic expertise. The fruit of this collaboration will allow Amplitude to compete with the major players in this segment, with an innovative robotic solution.”
eCential Robotics is a Grenoble-based company that develops and markets a system combining robotic 2D/3D imaging and real-time navigation. With 80 patents and seven registered trademarks, it pursues a breakthrough innovation strategy and offers orthopedic surgeons and neurosurgeons cutting-edge, easy-to-use technology to visualize their operations, particularly in minimally invasive surgery. The eCential Robotics platform is a universal and open system for the use of all implants. Winner of the Bpifrance Global Innovation Competition in 2018, the company designs and produces all of its equipment in Grenoble, France.
Founded in 1997 in Valence, Amplitude Surgical develops and markets orthopedic surgical products covering the main pathologies affecting the hip, knee and extremities, in particular for foot and ankle procedures. Amplitude Surgical develops, in close collaboration with surgeons, numerous innovations. Leading player in France, Amplitude Surgical is expanding internationally through its subsidiaries and a network of agents and exclusive distributors present in more than 30 countries. Amplitude Surgical operates in the extremities market through its Novastep subsidiaries in France and the United States. As of June 30, 2021, Amplitude Surgical employed 443 people and generated revenue of nearly 95.5 million euros.
The companies have agreed to combine their technologies for robotic knee surgery. Based on the technical excellence of the products and a common long-term vision, the partnership makes it possible to combine the best of both firms:
- Surgical robotics with the eCential Robotics platform. The only fully unified solution available, the eCential Robotics platform unifies intraoperative 2D/3D imaging, navigation and robotics in its design. The eCential Robotics platform is an open solution, which responds to the preferences of different surgeons and has proven itself in the context of collaborations with numerous industrial partners in the field of spine surgery;
- Navigation and knee surgery with Amplitude Surgical. With more than 15 years of experience in navigated knee surgery, thanks to its proprietary Amplivision system, and more than 20 years of clinical follow-up of total knee arthroplasties, Amplitude Surgical will bring its expertise for an optimized surgical flow, based on the latest alignment techniques.
