Safe Orthopaedics and Wenzel Spine began a distribution and manufacturing agreement as well as started discussions to maximize business synergies.
Wenzel and Safe will distribute Safe’s MIS pedicle screws and vertebral augmentation technologies as well as Wenzel implants in the U.S. In turn, Safe will support design and manufacturing of Wenzel spinal implants with machining, finishing, and packaging services.
The companies will also evaluate combination of Wenzel’s diagnostic and surgical planning tech in conjunction with Safe’s SORA technology that provides surgery online assistance, assisted implant and instrument selection, and automatic replenishment.
Wenzel will also begin preparations for distribution in Europe following combined development of ready-to-use instrument sets for its implants.
“We are excited about the opportunity to partner with Safe Group on multiple fronts as we look to expand Wenzel Spine’s reach within the ASC, outpatient, and acute care markets in the USA and abroad.” William Wilson, co-founder and CEO of Wenzel told the press. “As we continue to accelerate our growth, especially in the outpatient fusion market, Safe’s ready-to-use solutions and applications with Wenzel’s products will increase the value of our technology and service offerings to our clients and most importantly their patients.”
Pierre Dumouchel, co-founder, chairman, and CEO of Safe, added “I’m pleased to announce our new partnership with Wenzel Spine. The alignment of our vision and technologies will allow our US sales teams to offer unique solutions to our clients for better treatment of their patients, especially in the rapidly growing ambulatory or outpatient environment. Starting with distribution and manufacturing agreements, we expect to accelerate our short-term sales growth and financial performance. We will continue to analyze mid-term options to maximize synergies between Wenzel and Safe.”
