Life Spine has received U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) clearance for its TruLift lateral expandable spacer system and lateral plate system.
The technology uses expandable tech and robust plating options to provide unique possibilities for patient care. TruLift lateral comes in a range of sizes and footprints, and can be expanded to desired height (8-16mm) to suit individual pathology and anatomical conditions. Immediate lumbar spine stabilization and fixation is provided by 1-, 2-, and 4-screw lateral plates and can optionally attach to the TruLift lateral expandable spacer.
"TruLift Lateral and Lateral Plate System offer next-generation technology for Lateral Lumbar Interbody Fusions. The system features a robust titanium, expandable interbody that allows for plate fixation devices to attach easily and accurately. These plates are offered in multiple configurations and sizes. Separately or combined, these innovative systems further our commitment to Micro Invasive Procedures," Rich Mueller, COO of Life Spine told the press.
TruLift lateral is post-packable and repositionable in situ. It has up to 8mm of in situ expansion and disc height restoration, as well as minimized impaction, preserved end plate integrity, and is designed to reduce posas irritation. There is an optional connection screw to fasten the plat to the interbody, which minimizes implant migration risk.
Further, Audible, tactile and visual confirmation of the CAM locking mechanism provides confidence in preventing screw back out. Plate teeth also provide intraoperative stabilization and prevents postoperative plate rotation.
