Disposable medical device firm SpineGuard has grown its half-year revenue by 41 percent to nearly 3 million euros ($3.3 million) Global revenue in the year’s first half, ended June 30, increased 860,000 euros to 2.97 million euros, compared with 2.11 million euros in the first half of 2014. At a constant exchange rate, the growth rate is 21 percent, the company noted in a news release.
“We are very pleased with the strong growth that the company delivered in the first half of 2015. Sales momentum is particularly solid in the U.S. and France, our two direct markets which had new record months in June,” SpineGuard CEO Pierre Jérôme said. “Looking forward, we are really excited about the upcoming launch of DSG (Dynamic Surgical Guidance) screws in collaboration with
our partners.”
Revenue in the United States increased 52 percent (23 percent in constant currency) to 2.27 million euros ($2.5 million) in the first half of 2015, compared with 1.5 million euros in the first half of 2014, and represented 77 percent of global revenue. In the rest of the world, revenue increased 14 percent during the first half of 2015 to 696,000 euros ($772,000) compared with 610,000 euros in the same period in 2014, and represented 23 percent of global revenue. France, the company’s second direct market after the United States, reported a 42 percent growth in the second quarter of 2015 after 36 percent in the first quarter, and represents 5 percent of the
global revenue. First-quarter sales jumped 47 percent to 1.51 million euros ($1.63 million), while second-quarter revenue climbed 35 percent to 1.45 million euros ($1.61 million), according to the company’s financial data.
The company sold 3,716 PediGuard units in the first half of 2015 compared with 3,008 in the first half of 2014. Of that total, 1,923 units were sold in the United States, representing 52 percent of total units sold globally.
SpineGuard has offices in Paris, France, and San Francisco, Calif. The company was founded in 2009.
