Red Point Medical 3D (RPM-3D) has achieved another milestone in the design of titanium Better Bunion custom Lapidus guides for reconstructive bunion surgeries.
Ben Coburn, CEO, explains, “We continue to enhance the RPM-3D proprietary, AI-enabled software called RedPoint Intelligence. Our advancements on the software front have significantly improved our processing techniques, and as a result we have achieved a 63% reduction in our guide development time. With our continued efforts to enhance our patient-specific guide design through intelligent software improvements, we are now capable of completing one custom guide every 15 minutes per technician level operator. This achievement reduces our overhead costs and drastically improves our PSI guide turnaround time. These advancements will allow for RPM-3D to easily respond to an anticipated growth in market demand as surgeons continue to seek ways to implement customization and advancements in 3D printing into their daily practice. By design, the software also prevents operator error in bony corrective positioning.
In this era of custom, patient-specific instrumentation, it can be a challenge to increase efficiency while maintaining strict quality assurance, the latter being our primary focus. We are fortunate to have a skilled team of engineers and software developers who are leading the way. RPM-3D’s RedPoint Intelligence will continue to push the boundaries in what we feel is a software driven hardware revolution as we continue to focus on perfecting technique so the surgeon can focus on optimal fixation.”
