CeramTec has named Katrin Sternberg, Ph.D., as president - Medical. She assumes the position from Dr. Hadi Saleh, who served in the dual roles of CEO and president - Medical.
Saleh remains CeramTec's CEO.
In her role as President Medical, Sternberg will work with Saleh, Chief Financial Officer Eric Oellerer, and Horst W. Garbrecht (president - Industrial).
Sternberg joins CeramTec from B. Braun Aesculap, where she served as member of the Executive Board with responsibility for R&D, quality management, regulatory affairs, and medical scientific affairs. Before her medical device industry tenure, Sternberg worked extensively in science, most prominently as a professor of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Rostock (2009-2014).
Sternberg earned her doctorate degree in chemistry from University of Rostock and completed her habilitation at the Institute for Biomedical Engineering of the University of Rostock.
