Exactech has promoted president Darin Johnson to the role of CEO. Johnson has been the company’s interim CEO since March 2023 and succeeds board chairman Jeffrey Binder.
Johnson joined Exactech in 2002 and has held several executive leadership roles in the company. As president he oversaw all the company’s business units, as well as its human resources and information technologies functions.
He previously led Exactech’s extremities business.
“Darin has done an excellent job guiding Exactech over the past six months,” Binder told the press. “His years of experience, success and leadership will serve the company well as we continue to work toward fulfilling our vision of becoming the industry’s best global orthopedic surgeon partner. I am confident Darin will inspire the company to achieve great things for surgeons and patients under his leadership.”
Johnson commented, “I’ve had the privilege of growing with this organization, so it’s an honor to have the opportunity to continue to lead Exactech as its CEO. I appreciate the steady support of our customers, partners at TPG, founders, employees—including our leadership team—our sales team, and our Board of Directors—especially our Chairman Jeff Binder. Our commitment to innovation over the past few years has started to materialize through important new products and solutions that help surgeons improve patients’ lives. I am incredibly excited about our future and look forward to leading Exactech to achieve its fullest potential.”
Last week, the company earned U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) clearance for its Activit-E polyethylene for use in its Vantage total ankle.
