CTL Amedica has been awarded Electronic Catalog (ECAT) government contract approval from the U.S Defense Logistics Agency.
CTL Amedica offers silicon nitride spine products, which the company says show better protein absorption and increased osseointegration, enhances osteogenic response, and accelerates fusion. The company also said silicon nitride has been demonstrated to deactivate multiple bacterial species and viral strains, including SARS-CoV-2.
The approval designates CTL Amedica to make its full portfolio of spine technologies available to veterans, military service members, and other patients getting care at U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) and U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) facilities.
“We’re proud to announce our ECAT government contract approval,” CTL Amedica’s CEO Daniel Chon told the press. “This will help make our full portfolio available to current and former service men and women and their families, who’re receiving care through the DOD or VA. This includes our silicon nitride spine implants, whose unique properties help speed healing and enhance recovery. We’re grateful for the opportunity to make this technology more readily available.”
ECAT was created to streamline the Defense Logistics Agency’s business practices and grow its range of procurement choices. ECAT also lets deploying units quickly obtain the full breadth of products needed to satisfy their requirements from a myriad of commercial sources.
CTL Amedica announced that its NITRO interbody fusion cage system received U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) 510(k) clearance last month.
