K2M Enters Spinal Device Market in France

K2M Inc. has infiltrated the French spinal market.

The Leesburg, Va.-based company performed its first surgery using the MESA Deformity Spinal System at the Groupement hôpitaux Est., Hopital Femme, Mere, Enfant in Lyon. Christophe Garin, M.D., conducted the procedure.

MESA Deformity is a top-loading, low profile spinal system featuring K2M’s zero-torque technology. The design of the Deformity Reduction Jack (Cricket) coupled with a complete offering of varied screw types, gives surgeons the ability to perform the most difficult correction maneuvers across all planes utilizing unique instrumentation for slow, controlled correction of the spine.

“Our first surgery in France could not be more timely given our attendance at the SRS [Scoliosis Research Society] conference in Lyon.
