Smith & Nephew Licenses Rotator Cuff Repair Device Line From KFx

British company Smith & Nephew plc now has the right to market Carlsbad, Calif.-based KFx Medical Corporation’s knotless double row rotator cuff repair device.

The new AppianFx line of implants from KFx are designed to re-attach tissue to bone in shoulder, knee, foot and ankle procedures, which combined exceed more than 1 million annual surgical procedures in the United States, according to the company. Product offerings include those that directly place and secure tissue into bone both with and without the use of sutures.

KFx makes tissue fixation devices in a variety of orthopedic surgical procedures performed on the shoulder, knee, foot and ankle.
