Spinal Elements Expands Headquarter Operations

The manufacturer moves to a location almost five times the size of its old facility.

Carlsbad, Calif.-based Spinal Elements Inc. has moved its corporate headquarters to a larger location within Carlsbad. To accommodate past and projected growth, the company has expanded its space from 8,500 square feet to more than 40,000 square feet. The new facility has an expanded training center, an expanded surgical lab, and a new machine shop.

“Our investment in these state-of-the-art facilities will significantly enhance our development, training, and operational capabilities,” said Jason Blain, president and co-founder of Spinal Elements. “The execution and commercialization of our innovative product pipeline will benefit greatly from the new facilities that were custom-built to meet our needs over the coming years.”

“In order to meet the strong market demand for our products, we found it necessary to relocate to accommodate our employees and expansion plans,” said CEO Todd Andres. “We hope to bring many more jobs to Carlsbad in the future.”

Spinal Elements makes spine surgical products. It specializes in PEEK (polyetheretherketone) products, and also makes controlled delivery and stand-alone devices. The company most recently launched its line of Lucent Ti-Bond products that have a coating of plasma-sprayed titanium on PEEK interbody devices.
