Materialise Expands Collaboration with Consensus Orthopedics

Materialise NV, a provider of 3-D software and printing solutions, and Consensus Orthopedics Inc. are expanding their association.

Consensus plans to use the Acetabular Cup Orientation (ACO) Hip Guide System from Materialise. In June, the companies announced a partnership using knee-imaging technology from Materialise.

The Materialise ACO Hip Guide System, a platform consisting of 3-D surgical planning software and patient-specific surgical guides for hip surgery, allows surgeons to predictably plan hip surgeries based on the patient’s unique anatomy and structural damage. Based on that pre-operative plan, patient-specific guides are designed and 3-D printed for use during surgery.
