NASS News: Centinel Spine to Feature Long-Term prodisc L Study

Centinel Spine will share new findings supporting long-term mobility superiority of the company’s prodisc L lumbar total disc replacement (TDR) device compared to two-level hybrid reconstruction at this year’s North American Spine Society (NASS) annual meeting.
 
The study is one of the first long-term mobility comparisons between two-level lumbar TDR and hybrid constructs consisting of one-level lumbar TDR compared with one-level anterior lumbar interbody fusion (ALIF). 235 patients who underwent lumbar surgery from 2003-2013 were followed.
 
The study demonstrated after a minimum 24 months’ follow-up, the two-level prodisc L TDR showed superiority in absolute lumbar mobility and pelvic motion. The hybrid construct showed an overall lack of compensation in lumbar mobility and pelvic motion compared to two-level lumbar TDR.
