Alphatec (ATEC) has launched EOS Insight, an end-to-end spine surgery platform powered by EOS scans and artificial intelligence (AI).

The cloud-based software platform can be used to deliver crucial information throughout spine care. It allows access to a variety of point-of-care applications.

An AI-driven alignment assessment feature provides level-identification, calculated measurements, parameters, and color-coded benchmarking to normative values after a full-body EOSedge exam. A surgical planning and simulation platform using a 3D patient spine model allows surgical correction with ATEC interbody implants.

Clinicans can also use EOS Insight to order, approve, and deliver patient-specific contoured rods for short and long construct surgery. Full spine visualization allows measuring key coronal and sagittal parameters, as well as direct comparison to the pre-op plan.

A post-op analytics tool generates a view of quantified, longitudinal assessment data from each stage of care.

“The debut of EOS Insight marks a pivotal moment for ATEC,” said chairman and CEO Pat Miles. “Its development harnessed unequivocal spine-focused knowhow to integrate informatics into every step of the clinical workflow. Unlike the plethora of duplicative “enabling technology” in spine, Insight modernizes surgery, replacing archaic clinical practices to improve patient outcomes. EOS Insight positions ATEC to be the standard-bearer in spine.”
