That was quick.

Within seven days (or so) of its publishing, ODT’s Top 10 Orthopedic Device Companies report landed in the top digital traffic tier this past week on the magazine’s website. Stryker Corp. topped the list once again to double-digit gains, and a long-heralded return of elective surgery pacing helped the orthopedic elite experience a banner year in 2023, with no reported revenue losses.

Though the report proved popular with cybervisitors, it ceded pageview totals to Exactech and Columbia University. The former gained the most interest from readers by launching a new balancing technology for total knee replacement patients that helps improve implant positioning and balancing. Harnessing the power of ExactechGPS computer-assisted technology, the Newton knee procedure provides surgeons visual guidance for personalized, balanced results.

Columbia University, meanwhile, amassed significant online visits with news about its research into a python-tooth-inspired device as a supplement to current rotator cuff suture repair that nearly doubles repair strength.

Trailing behind the Top 10 report but still fueling respectable traffic this past week was Paragon 28, which launched its SMART28 case management portal—a platform that uses artificial intelligence (AI) to coordinate patient-specific surgical plans. The portal is the first major launch in the Englewood, Colo.-based company’s SMART 28 ecosystem. The portfolio drives its SMART28 initiative, which it said is “to improve all aspects of foot and ankle treatments through the utilization of artificial intelligence, data analytics, patient specific algorithms, 3D modeling, and other enabling technologies.”

The magazine’s feature on the cases and trays market was of interest to readers as well. The story details the trends driving growth in that market and top customer expectations (delivery speed, design collaboration, and responsiveness).
