Gmreis Marks Versalock Hand & Wrist Plating Milestone

GMReis has completed 100 procedures with the Versalock Hand & Wrist Plating System in the first half of this year, the company announced.

Company officials claim surgeons have consistently highlighted the system’s anatomic implant-to-bone interface, comprehensive procedural coverage, and reliable locking mechanism as key differentiators in choosing a solution, thereby reinforcing the platform’s growing adoption across hand and wrist indications.

The Versalock Wrist Universal Variable Angle Blocked Plate System is designed for radius FLP and distal ulna fractures.

The hand Versalock System offers variable angle locking mechanism with self-retain screw technology for treating hand fractures, osteotomies, and pseudoarthrosis, according to the company. The system is composed of Versa and Versalock Plates, with several models and sizes for optimal implant fit.

GMReis Versalock Screws offer a variable locking mechanism of plus or minus 15 degrees, providing the surgeon with more versatility and options for plate fixation.

GMReis was founded in Brazil in 1989 by Geraldo Marins dos Reis Jr. His personal involvement in developing an electromagnetic stimulation device for bone regeneration, while still a scientific initiation student with a project promoted by CNPq, was the catalyst for the company’s present structure. Initially, he dedicated himself to producing implants for knee and shoulder ligament reconstruction, which were unprecedented in Brazil (e.g., anchors and interference screws).
