PrecisionEngineered Products LLC has acquired Boston Endo-Surgical Technologies Inc., a spinal and orthopedic surgical instrument manufacturer. The Hampton, N.H.-based company will be integrated into Precision’s Lacey business unit, a full-service, vertically integrated contract manufacturer of finished assemblies, subassemblies and precision components based in Bridgeport, Conn.

Precision Engineered Products makes various surgical instruments, including stapling devices, endoscopic and laparoscopic devices, and drug delivery systems. The company also manufactures energy management technology products, transportation safety devices and components for the aerospace and high-tech industries.

Precision executives said the merger will give the company a strong development pipeline of new technologies and strengthen its position in the spinal surgery sector.

“The addition of the Boston End-Surgical Technologies products and brand continues our strategy of expanding our offering of highest-technology medical devices that extend people’s lifespan and improve outcomes of surgical procedures,” Precision CEOAlan Huffenus said in prepared remarks. “Helping people live longer with a better quality of life while building a successful enterprise is very rewarding…”

Precision Engineered Products, however, won’t be the only beneficiary of the acquisition. Boston Endo-Surgical stands to reap some rewards as well: “This strategic acquisition promises to be a dynamic combination which will accelerate the product offerings of both BostonEndo-Surgical Technologies and PEP/Lacey. We are pleased and excited with this acquisition,”noted Bob Brissette, Boston Endo-Surgical CEO and chairman.

Precision Engineered Products is a portfolio company of The Jordan Company of New York, N.Y., and Nautic Partners of Providence, R.I. Both companies are private equity firms that have partnered for years with Precision.
