ArthroCare’s SpeedFix Cleared by FDA

New product enhances line of suture anchors.

ArthroCare Corp. has received clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for its SpeedFix Suture System.

The SpeedFix Suture System is a push-in anchor made of PEEK (polyetheretherketone) polymer, and is indicated for the repair of tears of the labrum in the shoulder. The System features anchors double-loaded with
ArthroCare’s MagnumWire suture and provides surgeons with independent bone locking, suture tensioning and suture locking options.

SpeedFix is expected to complement the Austin, Texas-based company’s broad line of suture anchors and suture passing technology.
