Alphatec Expands Arsenal Spinal Fixation Offerings

Carlsbad, Calif.-based Alphatec Holdings Inc., parent company of Alphatec Spine Inc., has launched its Arsenal osteotomy instrument set, further expanding the Arsenal spinal fixation system launched earlier this year. The set is a foundational component supporting Alphatec’s Arsenal Deformity pipeline program that is targeted for beta launch in the first quarter of 2016.

Eastlack successfully performed surgery on the first patient using the new Arsenal osteotomy instrument set with the Arsenal spinal fixation system in early September.

The Arsenal osteotomy instrument set was developed to support complex spinal cases, designed to provide procedural efficiency, ergonomic instrumentation and multiple instrument options to accommodate anatomical diversity. The set supports posterior column osteotomies, pedicle subtraction osteotomies and vertebral column resections. Many of these procedures are necessary when addressing complex spine cases, including deformity, which the company estimates to be a $650M worldwide market.
