Biomet Inc. has released an internal fracture fixation system. The Warsaw, Ind.-based orthopedic manufacturer describes its ePak single-use delivery system as a pre-sterilized, single-use procedure pack that addresses the productivity needs of the operating room in one complete package. The system is designed to help save time, reduce cost, improve efficiency, and ultimately increase productivity.

The ePak system addresses distal radius fractures and features Biomet’s DVR Crosslock implant and instruments.

According to the company, with more than 10 years of clinical experience treating distal radius fractures using thevolar approach, the DVR plate and instrumentation continue to refine fracture fixation.

Wil Boren, president of Biomet Sports Medicine, Extremities and Trauma, noted, “We are pleased to announce the release of this revolutionary advancement in orthopedic delivery systems. The ePak single-use system is an all-around solution, and we are excited to be the first orthopedic company to release a device in this category that addresses the needs of the orthopedic surgeon, patient, and the hospital system. We are confident that both the ePak system and the DVR Crosslock will be important additions to our trauma portfolio.”
