Biotronik Neuro Rolls Out AI Feature for Spinal Cord Stim

The new tool analyzes Prospera SCS data for early signals a patient could benefit from more support or therapy optimization.

Biotronik Neuro has launched Embrace One Proactive Intelligence, a proprietary artificial intelligence (AI) capability to advance proactive care for patients implanted with the Prospera spinal cord stimulation (SCS) system.

The company collects over 200 data points per patient daily via automatic, objective remote monitoring. The new AI capability analyzes this data to spot early signals that might indicate a patient could benefit from further support or therapy optimization.

Biotronik noted the AI model doesn’t make clinical decisions or adjust therapy. It offers more insight to its Embrace Care Team, a group of clinical specialists who actively monitor patients and provide personalized care between office visits. Since Embrace One uses data already collected through the Prospera SCS, it doesn’t need further effort from patients or healthcare providers.

New real-world data presented at the American Society of Pain and Neuroscience (ASPN) Annual Meeting showed the AI model can identify patients who may benefit from proactive outreach. In a pilot study, it flagged 188 behavioral-pattern instances across 175 patients, prompting responses in 80.9% of cases. Overall, nearly four in five cases led to targeted support from the Embrace One Care Team, including remote reprogramming, therapy optimization, and patient education.
