Medical center in Vietnam has installed an EOS imaging system.
EOS Imaging, a Paris, France-based maker of 2-D and 3-D orthopedic imaging systems, is growing its presence in Southeast Asia with an installation of one of its systems at Medica Medical Center (MMC) in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. MMC is Vietnam’s most active medical facility in terms of patient volume, providing service to more than 1,000 patients per day, and offers a range of specialized services, such as pediatrics, endocrinology, cardiology and neurology. MMC’s network of facilities provides medical services in numerous provinces throughout the country but also in Laos and Cambodia. “As one of the largest medical centers in Vietnam, we must continually seek out proven technologies that will help provide our physicians with the best diagnostic information and our patients with the best treatment outcomes,” said Phan Thanh Hai, M.D., director MMC. “Our decision to add the EOS system’s low dose 2-D/3-D imaging satisfies both of those objectives and enables our hospital to continue operating as one of Vietnam’s premier medical facilities.” The EOS system provides full-body images of patients in a natural functional position in both 2-D and 3-D with 50 percent to 85 percent less dose than digital radiology and 95 percent less dose than basic CT (computed tomography) scans, in accordance with the ALARA (as low as reasonably achievable) principle of radiation reduction. “EOS imaging is proud of our continued adoption throughout the South East Asian market with an installation at the Medic Medical Center, which is home to Vietnam’s premier radiologic center,” said Marie Meynadier, CEO of EOS imaging. “MMC’s decision to become the first in Southeast Asia to adopt EOS for 2-D/3-D orthopedic imaging demonstrates the level of trust and credibility we continue to establish throughout the entire region.”
