Six orthopedic firms with promising, novel technologies was the top traffic driver this past week on the ODT website, barely edging out the 2022 Top 10 orthopedic companies report.

Each year, ODT magazine’s editors choose six spotlighted companies outside the Top 10 that are making an impact on the device sector with more unique and newsworthy technologies. This year’s class included CoreBone, GreenBone Ortho SpA, Ossio, Fundamental Surgery, Onkos Surgical, and Extremity Medical.

The emerging companies feature is an accompanyment to the magazine’s annual Top 10 Companies report, which ranks the 10 most profitable orthopedic device firms, and reviews their previous fiscal year’s performance. The report is consistently one of the most-read items on the ODT website.

Other items upping page views this past week included Exactech’s declaration of the first successful surgeries using its Spartan stem and Logical cup system for total hip replacement. The Spartan hip stem touts three-offset options and a tapered, polished distal segment. The Logical modular acetabular system was engineered for highly active patients and to enable efficient clinical workflow.

Moximed also attracted cybervisitors with its announcement of a $40 million Series C equity and debt financing. The company is using the proceeds to gain the necessary regulatory approvals and build commercial infrastructure for its MISHA knee system, an implantable shock absorber for the knee.

Medi-Tech Insights garnered page views as well with its rosy forecast for the global bone void fillers market.
