Happy weekend, ODT readers! (Remember to turn your clocks forward an hour.)

Topping our readers’ interest this week was news coming from this year’s American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) annual meeting. No surprise as it’s arguably the largest orthopedic device focused event in the U.S.

Taking the gold was orthopedic manufacturer Velocity’s partnership with SMADE to provide orthopedic OEMs optimized visibility on asset location and activity. The runner-up was Zimmer Biomet’s unveiling of the latest enhancements at AAOS to its ZBEdge dynamic intelligence. Taking the bronze was a study presented at AAOS showing that balancing ligaments is more significant than alignment to achieve the best outcomes in total knee replacement.
