PhDx Systems Inc., a software and services company that specializes in patient-reported outcomes for spine and orthopedic procedures, has named Richard Keck president and CEO. In his new position, Keck will focus on expanding the company’s reach into patient-centered outcomes research, including real-time feedback. “I thrive on using data to create positive outcomes for customers,” Keck said. “The analysis, collection, management and transformation of data has been key to my career at every stage, and I’m thrilled to take the lead at PhDx.” Keck has more than 25 years of experience in information-intensive businesses ranging from healthcare to logistics and financial services. Most recently, he served as chief financial officer (CFO) and chief operating officer of Aventura HQ Inc., which provides health information technology solutions to hospitals. Prior to Aventura, Keck was CFO at Collective Intellect, a social media analytics and custom research company now owned by Oracle Corp. He has also held various financial management positions in the information technology outsourcing industry. Keck earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Illinois and an master’s degree in finance and business strategy from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. “I am very optimistic about the future of PhDx for many reasons and a couple stand out,” Keck added. “Formal research protocols demand specific measurement windows, and we have an impressive system in place to manage the vast amounts of data these research projects generate. Second, patient health is an everyday activity and PhDx has the potential to be incredibly relevant to patients by providing mobile technology like PhDx mPRO and our newest iOS app, TrackMyBack.” Albuquerque, N.M.-based PhDx is a specialized healthcare informatics company that provides data management and supporting services to spine and orthopedic medical researchers seeking patient-reported outcomes from their treatment procedures. The company develops both longitudinal studies and mobile technology for everyday use by spine and orthopedic patients. In 2013, the company launched TrackMyBack, a mobile iOS application used to capture daily patient-reported outcomes.
