SafeWire Introduces Tiger Pedicle Access Needle Family

System includes four needle sizes.

Cooper City, Fla.-based SafeWire Inc. has introduced its Tiger pedicle access needle family. The platform earned U.S. Food and Drug Administration 510(k) clearance in May this year.

Building on the Y-Wire anchoring guide wire for percutaneous spinal pedicle screw delivery, the Tiger pedicle access needle family features platform technology designed to increase the accuracy and ease of MIS (minimally invasive surgery) pedicle access. According to the company, surgeons have access to good control over pedicle access needle advancement, measured and adjustable guide wire deployment, streamlined pedicle preparation and atraumatic mechanical access needle removal. The system includes four different needle models to fit different surgeons needs.

“With our experience surgeons have directed the need for bone access needles optimized for MIS surgery,” said CEO Wyatt Geist. “We have responded with a multitude of customized needles depending on the surgeons approach.”

SafeWire makes devices for minimally invasive spine surgery.
