Company also meets IEC standard for medical electrical equipment.
Houston, Texas-based Spine Pain Management Inc. has named Jeffery Cronk D.C., J.D., a nationally recognized expert in accident induced spine injuries, to its board of directors. Additionally, after three months of product safety testing of its Quad Video Halo (QVH), a videofluoroscopy accessory device that can be attached to an X-ray head of a fluoroscopy system or device, has passed the specific Immunity and Emission standards required by IEC 60601-1-2:2007, which pertains to medical electrical equipment. Spine Pain Management has now filed all paper necessary for safety component approval and is not expecting any further required changes in the final QVH. “Through both its legacy spine injury finance programs and QVH, Spine Pain Management has been attracting the attention of renowned spine treatment and legal industry experts such as Jeffrey Cronk,” said William Donovan, M.D., chairman and CEO of Spine Pain Management. “And in Dr. Cronk’s case, so much so that he has agreed to join the company’s board of directors. Dr. Cronk has extensive experience treating spine injuries as a Doctor of Chiropractic. He also holds a law degree and has broad knowledge of personal injury law. Using this knowledge and experience, he has formed an educational group that has attracted a broad following of both medical and legal professionals as students. What caught my desire to nominate him to the Spine Pain Management board was his strong desire to advance transparency by holding doctors responsible for negligent care. As Spine Pain Management now moves into its growth phase, the addition of a pro-active specialist like Dr. Cronk to the Spine Pain Management team should vastly contribute to a rapid and successful roll-out of both our product lines.” Cronk earned his chiropractic doctorate in 1988. In 2013, he completed his law degree with a special emphasis on personal injury law. His main passion is in the area of spinal ligament injuries and the importance of proper diagnosis and treatment. “We know the number one cause of pain and disability are spinal ligament injuries to the neck and lower back,” said Cronk. “These spinal ligament injuries commonly caused by auto, sports or work accidents cause major spinal misalignments and ensuing instabilities that are all too often missed by the doctors that are treating them. This of course leads to a delay in correct diagnosis and proper treatment, which can lead to a lifetime of unnecessary pain and suffering for the patient. This is no longer acceptable to those of us who are trying to do something about it. No patient with a spinal ligament injury should be treating with a doctor that does not fully understand how to objectively determine the severity and location of such a condition. To do so would put the patient at almost certain risk for long-term problems. Today when a patient suffers as a result of this condition being missed, the treating doctor needs to be held accountable and explain to the world why the patient received improper or even negligent care.”
