TransCorp Spine Awarded Patent for Spineport MIS Access System

Company will exhibit system at conferences this fall.

Ada, Mich.-based TransCorp Spine Inc. has been awarded a U.S. patent for its Spineport MIS (minimally invasive surgical) access system.

“This is truly an important milestone for TransCorp Spine,” said President and CEO Chris Welch. “This patent recognizes the innovative and unique products that we are developing for spine surgery.”

The SpinePort system offers a proprietary channel guide that assists surgeons in creating a 6 mm surgical port needed to perform minimally invasive spinal decompressions and other types of procedures.

“I am proud and honored to work with a talented group of engineers and surgeons here at TransCorp Spine,” Welch added. “ This team will continue to lead the company in developing new products to assist surgeons in performing minimally-invasive spine surgery.”

TransCorp Spine is in the process of commercializing its Spineport system and will be demonstrating this product line at several spine surgery conventions this fall.
