Paragon 28 Soft Launches Mister Tendon MIS Harvesting Instruments

Paragon 28 has launched Mister Tendon, a pair of instruments for minimally invasive distal cutting of the flexor hallucis longus (FHL) or flexor digitorum longus (FDL) tendons, in order to harvest a working length of tendon suitable for tendon transfer.
 
The instrument set includes a harvester and accessory dilator to help bluntly dissect soft tissue. The dilator can improve harvester access without causing further damage, according to the company.
 
Surgeon designer Thomas San Giovanni, MD said there would be no use openly dissecting soft tissue and neurovascular structures, if tendons of equal length could be harvested with instrumentation that facilitates minimally invasive techniques.
 
In doing so, the same goal would be achieved all while sparing the anatomical region from needless dissection, avoiding surgical disruption of the soft tissue structural anatomy and microvasculature…do nothing that is of no use,” he told the press. “The Mister Tendon Harvester was created based on this principle.”

Earlier this month, the company began limited release and celebrated the first surgical cases for the Bun-Yo-Matic Lapidus clamp for bunion surgery.
