Paragon 28 has released its FJ2000 power console and burr system for a range of minimally invasive and open procedures in the foot and ankle.
The system features three preset options, including a low-speed, high-torque setting to help reduce thermal necrosis during bone and joint preparation and retain healthy bone healing. It also includes single-use hand pieces and a variety of burrs and instruments in a sterile-packed kit.
The system is very efficient for workflow, said Prof. Dr. med. Hazibullah Waizy. “The combination of adjustable speed and power settings and drilling function allows surgeons to work precisely in a way most suitable for each unique procedure,” Dr. Waizy explained. “The sterile packed, single-use hand pieces and burrs are dependable and allow me to turn cases quickly and effectively without waiting for other instruments to become available.”
“The FJ2000 brings several benefits to the foot and ankle community, ranging from health system cost, operating room efficiency, surgeon optionality and ultimately improved patient outcomes,” added Paragon 28’s CEO Albert DaCosta. “We are incredibly proud to bring a modernized approach to the market that is truly differentiated in so many ways.”
Last week, the company launched Mister Tendon, a pair of instruments for minimally invasive distal cutting of the flexor hallucis longus (FHL) or flexor digitorum longus (FDL) tendons, in order to harvest a working length of tendon suitable for tendon transfer.
