2025 is starting strong with M&A activity as readers look at this year’s M&A roundup. Fusion Ortho has acquired Metalogix a maker of external fixation systems. This expands Fusion Ortho’s solutions with Circular Static Frames, Dynamic Frames, Delta Frames, and a soon-to-be-released, novel Mini-Rail System.

In personnel news, Dr. Neal Blitz, DPM, founder and CEO of Vroom Medical Devices has been chosen to serve the New York City Police Department (NYPD) as an honorary police surgeon. He joins a team of physicians from an array of disciplines. 

Cartlsmed recently launched a new state-of-the-art production line that will enable the firm to deliver its aprevo personalized spinal fusion implants to hospitals in less than 10 days. The company is planning to launch aprevo for cervical fusions by the end of 2025.

Onward Medical has received de novo classification and authorization to market its ARC-EX system from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The device provides a programmed electrical stimulation through the skin to the spinal cord using electrodes placed on the back of the neck.
