Advita Ortho Acquires Bauer Innovations’ Shoulder Arthroplasty IP

This expands the company's ability to treat patients with glenoid bone loss using reverse total shoulder arthroplasty.

Advita Ortho has obtained three novel IP applications from Bauer Innovations to grow its Equinoxe shoulder system portfolio.

The Gainsville, Florida-based company said this expands the its ability to treat patients with glenoid bone loss using reverse total shoulder arthroplasty (rTSA). It plans to use these patents to develop reverse shoulder glenoid baseplates that improve fixation in revision shoulder arthroplasty patients with central vault and uncontained glenoid defects.

Last week, Advita announced the first clinical use of reverse shoulder humeral liners manufactured with its Activit-E vitamin E polyethylene for the Equinoxe reverse shoulder system.
