Misonix Inc. is continuing to penetrate the world market with its products.
The Farmingdale, N.Y.-based firm has negotiated an exclusive, three-year agreement to sell three of its products in Poland. The pact calls for North Med, a company based near Prague in the Czech Republic, to distribute Misonix's SonaStar Ultrasonic Surgical Aspirator, its BoneScalpel Ultrasonic Bone Cutter, and the SonicOne Ultrasonic Would Debrider in Poland. North Med distributes state-of-the-art medical devices and capital equipment in Poland as well as the Czech and Slovak republics, focusing primarily on products for neurosurgery, spine procedures, oncologic surgery and orthopedic treatments.
The SonaStar device enables surgeons to remove hard and soft tumors and spare most vessels. The product can be used with OsteoSculpt bone sculpting technology to safely remove osseous structures and provide access to the surgical site.
The BoneScalpel is a tissue specific osteotomy device that canmake precise cuts through bone and hard tissue while largely preserving delicate soft tissue structures.
The SonicOne is an ultrasonic wound care system that offers tissue specific debridement and cleansing for the effective removal of devitalized tissue and fibrin deposits. The device spares viable cellular structures.
"Misonix is very pleased to partner with North Med," said Michael A. McManus, Jr., Misonix president and CEO. "Their commitment to quality and service, as well as their success in introducing high tech medical devices, has always appealed to Misonix."
The distribution agreement with North Med is the fourth such pact in five months for Misonix. Last fall, the company reached similar agreements to sell the SonaStar, BoneScalpel and SonicOne devices in the United Arab Emirates and Argentina; in January, those devices debuted in Peru, and inFebruary, they began selling in Brazil.
Misonix designs, develops, manufactures and markets therapeutic ultrasonic medical devices and laboratory equipment.
