Franklin, Mass.-based medical device machining company Tegra Medical has promoted Walter Gacek to vice president of business development.
“[Gacek’s] record of success in developing new business and cultivating strong customer relationships along with his determined focus on customer service and satisfaction will be instrumental in driving our continued growth,” said Tegra President and CEO Rob Pietrafesa.
Gacek will continue to be in charge of all sales and marketing at Tegra. He has almost three decades of medical device industry experience, and knowledge of technical aspects of medical device contract manufacturing, including metals machining and processing, plastics injecting molding, device assembly, packaging and sterilization.
These are all services that Tegra provides. The company focuses its contract manufacturing services exclusively on the medical device industry, particular for surgical, technical and orthopedic companies.
Prior to joining Tegra in 2009 as business development manager in the western U.S., Gacek was at Wilmington, Mass.-based Acellent Inc. for 15 years. There, he served in various technical sales and sales management positions, including director of business development. He built and led sales teams in various geographic regions. He was manager of technical sales and marketing at American Technical Molding, a medical molder acquired by Acellent, and western region account manager for Calgary, Alberta, Canada-based NOVA Chemicals Corporation, where he worked in applications development of medical grade plastic alloys. Gacek began his career with American McGaw in Irvine, Calif. (now B. Braun) as a senior staff engineer and injection molding supervisor.
