Ulrich Medical USA Inc. has released the Golden Gate Lateral Plate System in the United States. The system was designed in Germany, and is used to surgically stabilize the thoracic and lumbar spine.
“This product is intended to provide anterior column stabilization after the removal of a vertebral body and can be used with an endoscopic or open approach,” said Hans Stover, president and CEO of Ulrich Medical USA.
The implant system features a two-part plate design (C-plate and gate) to give the surgeon an unobstructed field of vision and open access to the intervertebral space during surgery. The system’s locking plate technology incorporates cannulated and conical polyaxial screws that allow for polyaxial movement to maintain proper balance and easier insertion during surgery.
“Ulrich Medical USA is expanding our spine market reach beyond corpectomy cages and this is our first product released as part of this market expansion initiative,” said Stover. “The golden gate product is a perfect complement to our existing premium cage technologies, and we are actively seeking additional sales distribution channels for our product lines in the United States.”
Ulrich Medical develops various medical products, including precision surgical instruments. It is headquartered in Ulm, Germany, while its U.S. offices are in St. Louis, Miss. region.
