Vexim CEO Vincent Gardès has a new right-hand man.
The French spinal device maker has hired Jérôme Marzinski as deputy CEO, reporting directly to Gardès.
Marzinski, 40, began his career as a financial analyst at SGI before becoming a finance manager for Hertz. He spent seven years at Sun Microsystems Inc., working in various management positions in the United States, France, the United Kingdom and The Netherlands. He joined vascular implant company ev3 Inc. in 2007 as international finance manager but was promoted to Europe general manager in 2009. He also served as a consultant for about a year before he was recruited by Vexim.
“We are glad to have Jérôme on board and the team will greatly benefit from his expertise and skills," Gardès said. "His arrival shows our willingness to drive the company to its next stage, focused on rapid dynamic growth that brings value to our shareholders. We already have a direct presence in Europe’s five largest markets for the treatment of vertebral fractures and more than 6,000 SpineJacks have already been implanted.”
Based in Balma, near Toulouse, France, Vexim was created in February 2006 from the spinoff of Teknimed, a developer of bone substitutes and surgical cements. Vexim' signature device -- the SpineJack -- is an implant designed to repair a deformed or fractured vertebra and restore the spinal column's anatomy.
