This past April, EOS Imaging obtained approval to sell its orthopedic 2-D and 3-D imaging products in Taiwan.
Approval from Taiwanese regulators represents an important milestone as the Parisian company continues its commercial development efforts in the Asia-Pacific region. EOS has also signed a distribution agreement with the Taiwanese company Unison Co. Ltd. to sell EOS imaging systems in the country.
Since this milestone, EOS imaging systems have also made their way into the Meijo Hospital, a spine medical center in Japan. This is the fourth system installed in the country since EOS received approval there in 2013.
“Our hospital performs a vital role providing community health services throughout Japan,” said Professor Noriaki Kawakami, director of orthopedic surgery at Meijo Hospital. “The installation of EOS in our facilities and throughout Japan is an important step in ensuring that our patients have access to the most beneficial imaging technology available.”
“We are happy to report rapid adoption of the EOS system in Japan,” said CEO Marie Meynadier. “The Meijo hospital and more globally our four installations demonstrate the positive results from our ongoing market development strategy in the Asia-Pacific region. We are confident that EOS adoption will continue in Japan, and throughout the region, as other physicians see the value of our technology demonstrated at these hospitals.”
